| Hey Population is really limited in this game, so if I recruit a lot of villagers there are no space for troops. When you start new game, how do you arrange your villagers to work? I mean how do you build up strong economy. For example I am doing like this: Build 8 villagers who will gather food Build 5 villagers who will gather wood After I reach II age and I am able to build farms I increase food gatherers to 12 and wood to 7-8 then gold ~7. And I fully upgrade all stockpiles, granaries while I reach Mythic age. However opponents keeps attacking me too often and at the end in post game there is big difference between me and them. I also do a trade between TC and markets. But once I have good economy, lot of villagers, market caravans, there are no space for troops and opponents fu*ks me quite quick I am not playing AOM too much, as I need to work, etc but on weekends I like to have a match or two. So guide me on right way building up economy | |

| You must expand your economy town and your territory at the same time. And keeping 5 villagesr directly on wood would cause an inbalence in the economy. One must have a balenced economy. If one has a balenced and good economy he can produce military buildings and research them faster. Don't forget to expand your territory. | |

| You have to build the economy you need for your strategy... for example is tou want to do a fast mythic, focus on food and gold, and a bit wood to upgrade your defenses (towers, some military building in case of...)
Anyways, the best strat to build a strong economy is to boom( take many town centers = TC) and keep making villagers in each TC, without stoping! Make all economic upgrades as you can.
But, if your opponent rush or attack you early, you have to focus on countering him, so build army and micro it. to prevent this situation, keep raiding his villagers with your mythic unit or some cavaleries in order to make him focus on killing your raiders instead of attacking you.
However, the real difficulty is to find the happy medium between army and economy, not to waste any resources and not keeping any resources unused (except if you wait for a threshold, for example: 800 food and 500 gold to up heroic).

| Yeah rage pretty much explained it very well there. Technically, most pros use the same method of advancing based on each major god but copying them wont work. Understanding the theory and practising it is more important.
Something that may seem obvious but deserves mention is reallocating your villagers. If you notice you are getting too much of 1 resource that you dont need quickly switch them to something which will be of more use. Similarly if you dont have enough of a certain resource, try to reallocate from others u could use less of to get the resource you need most. Also learn when to get certain economic upgrades. As maps change so do these. For example you wouldnt get animal hunt upgrade in medit. But you would LOVE it in a map like thundra, marsh, highland, etc.

| how about farm placement?
should you put them near your TC with all the towers/barracks? or attempt to hide them in a corner or weird location away from your TC?
if you put them near your TC, it is easier for the enemy to find but easier to defend if you hide them away somewhere there is a chance of either not getting found, or getting massacred...

| I beleive its way better to put your farms nears your TC. If the enemy finds out, wich happens most of the time, its a massacre | |

| Yeah, of course close to TC because vills are best protected and you don't need to build any loft | |

| Also when u have them near your TC you also have the convenient ability to garrison them in the TC which not only boosts the attack of the TC but keeps ur villagers safe, also if u see that ur opponent is attacking the TC all from one side u can bring ur villagers out from another, start repairing and the moment they move around, garrison again. By this time you should bring your army back if you got attacked whilst trying to make an attack | |

| I know that with eggys its always wise to use house to protect yr towers and with atties by economic places. Norse usually put them anywhere. My question is what is good GREEK house placement? if i put them together they get earth quaked or mauled. i don't have time or resources to put them apart. Any ideals? | |
