99% mercs 1% skill :)

heres a rec where, 2v2 me(posiedon) and subzero(set) vs GDMontecristo(ra) and oak_iago(set), i vs iago and it goes late game and blah blah blah, i lose to dam merc spammer, 80 percent of his army were mercs, 20 percent were ellie and chariots lol i never seen such a spammer yet tbh, anyways i just wanna know what i did wrong and what i did right, k thanks.

he's the guy i was matched against in round 3. he's a dam good player.... been around for a long long time :O

alright, when you look at this map, this should be a pretty easy one to take 4v2 vs him on. the reason why you didn't is because you weren't aggressive enough when it was most important. when eggy first build their migdol, they're spamming military units because up til now they dont have any (save the 2 mu's). so you need to be probing forward looking to pick off his units when you can. I know its intimidating running into tower/migdol fire, but you still need to try to draw his units into attacking you outside the tower range. You had mil pop advantage at that time and could have easily won battles/wasted his resources. I personally would have gone all out with superior micro and just taken his mig down completely. just remember that the best defense is a strong offense.

few quick things: more building spam and get eco upgrades -_-. spend those resources!!! thats why you gather them lol so u can spend them. 20 mins with archaic eco ups is a no bueno. something that will help you: as you age up, get the eco ups. so when you're advancing to classical get pickaxe/handaxe. (unless you already have it of course), as you're advancing heroic get the 2nd wood/gold up. using htis as a GENERAL RULE of gameplay will improve you a lot. These eco upgrades pay for themselves quickly. ESPECIALLY when you get the 2nd wood/gold ups when advancing heroic. that really boosts your eco a lot and enables you to take another tc and makea fort as soon as you get heroic and make a strong push with some early petrobolos.

i didn't watch the whole game because your mistake was letting him freely boom into heroic and not putting any pressure on him.
