Age of Mythology Tournament
Organized by the Professional Killers clan
Introduction
In the spirit of duplicating our success with our recent Age of Empires III tournament, we have seen fit to organize an Age of Mythology tournament. We trust that it will be competitive and enjoyable.
Applying for the Tournament
In order to enter the tournament, we would like to ask that all applicants sign up at the PK website (pkclan dot net) and apply by posting in the appropriate tournament forum. There is a separate forum apart from this thread that applicants apply to. Only 64 applicants will be accepted into the tournament. Applicants will be asked to submit the following information in a post:
a) ESO or GR User Name
b) Estimated ESO Rating
c) Ventrilo User Name
d) Email Address
e) Civilization Choice In Disputes
f) Agreement to the Tournament Rules
Tournament rules
1. Tournament Staff
a. The tournament staff will consist of {PK}Chicks,{PK}Clown, and {PK}DeMoNoId.
2. Double-Elimination Bracket Description
a. All registrants will be added to the master bracket. The first round is the singular preliminary round. The winners will advance to the double octofinal round, the losers will be eliminated.
b. The double octofinal participants will battle, the winners will advance to the octofinal round, and the losers will be eliminated.
c. The octofinal participants will battle, the winners will advance to the quarterfinal round, and the losers will be eliminated.
d. The quarterfinal participants will battle, the winners will advance to the semifinals, and the losers will be eliminated.
e. The semifinal participants will battle, the winners will advance to the finals, and the losers will be eliminated.
f. The finals will commence with the winners of the semifinal round.
3. Game Play
a. All games are expected to be rated and recorded. We expect players to then post these recorded games on the tournament section of the PK forum.
b. If a bug is identified or a disconnection occurs in the first two (2) minutes of a game, a game may be restarted if both players agree to do so or upon authorization by the tournament staff.
c. If a disconnection occurs later on in the game, the tournament staff may adjudicate and thus award a victory to the player that appeared to be winning. Otherwise, a close game without an obvious winner may be restarted based upon the decision of the tournament staff.
d. Players will be permitted to select different civilizations in each game, but in the event of a dispute or a level of deliberation that is determined by the tournament staff to be excessively indecisive, players may be forced into using the civilization described as their preferred civilization on their application form.
i. Map choice: All games will be played on a Random Map.
4. Disqualifications
a. If you suspect your opponent has some sort of unfair external advantage (i.e., cheats, hacks, map visibility, trainers, etc.), finish the game and submit it for review with an explanation of why you think the game was unfair. If the tournament staff members find someone to be guilty of cheating, the cheater will be disqualified from the tournament and reported.
b. If a player repeatedly disconnects from games, disqualification may be considered.
5. Commencement Date
The tournament staff would like to start the tournament on July 6, 2012.
6. Donations
This tournament will be totally funded by the community. The minimum pot will be $30, donated by {PK} Demonoid. All donations will be added to the pot.
7. Prizes
At the conclusion of the tournament, the pot will be divided between the following individuals:
a) 60% to the 1st place player.
b) 20% to the 2nd place player.
c) 10% to the 3rd place player.
d) 10% total or two 5% shares to the two players who are judged to have played the most competitive and exciting game of the tournament
