 Isis - Defending Rush

Ive been playing this against rushers for a while now and i want to share this strat, maybe someone could improve.

pharoah on tc. (faster villagers)
priest to explore (only around your area for animals)

3V to chickens
que 5 to chickens
que 5 to gold
-stop- (make house if nessacary)
advance when possible

Okay this is the main part ^ but now heres a choice. if your against kronos you need to make slingers (because kronos makes counter archers)
but if your against loki you need to make spearmen (or is it axemen) to counter the ulfark/hersir.
IF AGAINST LOKI FORGET ABOUT WOOD AND GO FOR MORE FOOD

all chicken gatherers cut wood
queue up more for wood. (2 to wood, 1 to gold repeat)
grab any villager to make 2x barracks
spam archers (should be able to get 10 within 1min)
fight off the attacking rush by making all slingers attack 1 target each
--put on green arrow for ONE barracks to keep making slingers for now. (keep a check on gold. if it goes below 400 stop asap)
analyse your next move. are the counter archers effective?, if yes, steal 3 villagers from gold/wood and start to hunt again then queue up more for food.
send the closest villager to the closest settlement and build a town center. when done queue up for gold
you should have a wave 2 hit by now. hopefully you have some slingers hanging about and can fight them off. use villagers if nessacary.
you shuld have a constant flow of gold/food income by now (unless you are gonna carry on with archers, just keep minimal on wood, 7 ish)
grab villagers from anywhere and make 6 barracks close to home (facing their base so its the first thing enemies see/arttack)
make 12 axemen and set them near slingers. take out any temple/barracks that you know of near base
and set two villagers to make 2 armouries in open space

now if youve scouted you might know the outskirts of their base. but if your like me you forgot about scouting in step 3. you SHOULD have a good idea of where their base is (because its always opposite of yours on the map) so you need to try and sneak around the side and hit enemy villagers hard. (be fast, dont screw about) micromanage and click on villagers 1 at a time for maximum effect (having axemen run off solo and get owned is very hard to avoid) you should get hit by towers/tc but ignore them for now

MEANWHILE. stack up more axemen (you shouldnt have favour, if you have your just wasting resources)
every 15 axemen you need to raid whatever military you find and any military producing building u can.

economy should be decent. at this point i like to make shitloads of towers around weakpoints and maybe walls to prevent annoying raiding

you should have a few villagers on idle because your focusing on military. so do this technique (difficult)
mouse of the minimap to an open space, and press full stop, click (hold mouse still) full stop, click (and repeat till no idlers)
grab all these villagers and make barracks closer to their base and stack up as many groups of units, and spam waves till they run ouf of resources. (NEVER SEND LESS THAN 15 AT A TIME BECAUSE THEY WILL DIE TOO FAST)

the only issue with this strat is that if people rush extremely fast you lose alot of villagers and can get cockblock and die. so im open to suggestions Smile

Lol, My suggestion is that this is a good strategy. Smile & i agree that if they rush you extremely fast, then I don't think we can use this 'cos we might already be owned. Very Happy

P. S. :- I don't usually play egyptians, So i donno if this is a really good strat for Isis. Smile

I like to make some suggestions in this guide , when against kronos it is always advicable to make spearmen because the can counter turmas and chieroballista. Murmillo and katapeltes aren't that effective against him.

It maybe a kronos rush or loki rush. Going fast heroic is the right choice for egypt as the barracks units of egypt are weak.

And also you must hunt nto chicken first. if there is no hunt then go for chicken.
I normally use the pharoh for the granary cause laborers are very slow at gathering.
Making towers is just a waste of gold for egypt (after all gold is the most important resource for egypt)

I advice to to heroic as fast as you can and build a midgol stronghold for better defence.

If there is a certain god you want tips with, advice would be to make agesanctuary your first source. There you have professionals ranked between 1800-1900, which is the best online, playing as many different gods.
Against Kronos rush, which is quite fast, you want to make a few Priests, because he is mainly going to come at you with Prometeans, so as soon as u see the attack move in with 5-6 priests. If he doesnt attack you before you advance, it means hes going to do a turma raid, so make spearmen mainly and some slingers to aid from behind.
Not sure how to deal with Loki rush tbh, havent played that much as Isis and i dont know the theory behind a loki rush.

I never play eggys but I use to rush them.. and the best defensive strat they have is to protect towers by building houses and walls and go Fast heroic.

Eggys need GOLD! If you can, keep the gold mine near the TC for later (when your oponent will be raiding : >5-6min)

Make a fast heroic with isis and ra, but once in classical and if strongly attacked, make 5-6 priesters, to counter UM and heal your few soldiers, and build 2 barracks... make just few soldiers in case of and to dissuade him from attacking you.

Once at classical, use your UM to raid his vills (it will keep him busy)

With seth, use the same defense but you can try a classic fight... although he's very strong at heroic with cheaper bastion and strong archers.

However, you have to get heroic as fast as possible and use this advantage without waiting=> Build bastion and bastion's units => attack as soon as possible using your god powers. (isis FH is the most known eggy strat).

I know some guy named |974|K3\/IN [ or something] . He uses only Isis , & he is the only guy I KNow of, who Goes to Heroic very veryyyy veryyyy Fast!! Smile [ around 6.00 min or so] . He uses the Isis GP Prosperity power for a gold boost, & then goes fast Heroic. There may be some other guys who uses this strat, but I know only this guy.

The trouble with going heroic that fast is that you probably wont have any defences. The whole point of the strategy is to defend whilst going heroic otherwise you take a lot of damage on your economy

Egypt FH is very important because of their ability to get free watch towers
They give egypt exccelent defence against raids.
Also it is really neccesary to cower these towers with walls and houses.

You get towers in classical but its still not usually enough. 4-5min rush's come with quite a few infantry. Even with the towers they can disrupt you're economy so you must create SOME defensive units. 6Min FH is too fast and leaves you wide open

Well with egypt you have to cover your towers with houses. You have to build them before 4 minutes.
I seen many experts covering with walls. That is good too.
No one can advance to heroic age at 6:00.The average time is 7:30.
Promethean rush is the only problem.
Now the infantry won't attack now. If he attacks then he is a noob because he is killing and wasting his resources.
After going to heroic age training chariot archers is advisable because the train very fast.

Dude i know they cover towers with houses and use walls where appropriate. Thats not the point. When have you ever seen a pro go heroic at 7:30 and still win. Against another PRO. Its not something that happens often if at all. The point is you cover all ur towers, make a few priests and other appropriate units, then micro to keep him off ur ass untill you do advance which wont be sooner than 9 minutes if who you are going up against is good.

Well if you want play at classical age and be agrresive.
But you will fail in most of the times because Egyptian barracks units are not good.
They can be killed very easily.
I always seen pros go to heroic age.
I only saw Fox_Tails(skipper) play agressively at classical age.

i never said you had to attack. I said you should make a FEW units, to defend at your base! Towers will give them enough support so that they wont get owned. You just need to have something there in the beginning so your villagers dont get raped.

Sometimes they make lots of priests & myth units, which may also help to defend your base & go to heroic fast[ If myth units do not cost gold].

hmmmmm like it was mentioned before it depend on the skill of the player. Plus a 3:30 kronos rush is EXTREMELY a pain to fight off. Lately this is all Ive been fighting with eggys. While you are busy defending he is building his econ, and the eggys are too slow to gather to get to classical in 5 min or less with good econ, so anyone have any tips for this?????????

the best you can do is cover the towers so they dont go down whilst you are waiting to advance, also make a few priests seeing as kronos rush is mostly with prometheans in the beginning. Another thing you could do is try to see where he is timeshifting to, then send a handful of villagers to crush the temple before he advances, this has happend to me once and it was very frustrating...

cover your towers with wallparts and houses and make 3 extra priests, try not to lose your spinx (heal when he's almost dead) and you should be fine

Also make your gold very hard to access, Thats the most important thing when you are upping. If there is a tower close to your gold and some trees, house up that tower first and try block off your gold using a wall to the trees. If the gap is large dont bother with the wall but keep your priests near ur gold mine

i swear those sphinx are a big annoyance when fighting as norse beacase the always put them under tc fire where my hersirs cant get them, and then priest heal them.
