French to English?

Hi all,
I downloaded AOM Gold and followed the instructions. The game seems to work ok but it is in french. Any idea how to get it to english as I do not speak or read french.

Hi. To make Titans speak English, you just need to put English xpacklanguage.dll (<-- it's a link) into the game folder instead of the French one there.
The same refers to vanilla (original AOM), if you need to switch it too - language.dll should be replaced (I don't have it at the moment, so try to search for it or ask others).

Thank you for that, it solved the issue nicely.

Another question, will this special version of AOM network with a standard copy of gold? And my router had a setting for a de-militirized zone for gaming purposes. I am hopeing this means I can have better success than all this port adding I seem to be doing with no luck lol.

Yes, it's a copy of a Gold original CD, with original and cracked .exe andalso loaders to play on eso.

But, if you want to play on gameranger, you should forward the port UDP 16000 to your computer. No need DMZ (which forward all the ports! = dangerous for your security).

sooo i know its been solved but i still can't do it i dont know why can u please tell me in wich folders should i put the xpacklanguage and the language.dll i downloaded ur gold edtion and its in french i already downloaded the languagepack-EN

Just read the read-me file...


INSTALLATION:
Replace your language.dll and/or xpacklanguage.dll (titans expansion)
file(s) inside c:\program files\microsoft games\age of mythology

UNINSTALLATION:
If you did not backup your original files, you can copy them from
your cd. In case of titans cd, you will have to rename xpa~.dll
to xpacklanguage.dll after you copy it over to your computer.

You have to replace the dialog files of your AOM with the sound files of a English version for campaign speaking English.
Similarly you have to replace the taunts file of a English version for english taunts.

The zip file contains two folders taunts and xtaunts. Replace both the folders(taunts will be in sound and xtaunts will be in sound/xpack). If you copy paste the files instead of replacing, you can hear english and french taunt depending on the version of the guy who taunts.

How do you go about changing the audio from french or spanish or russian, to english? because i have english text and spanish audio, if you could help asap it would be much appreciated

I don't know if it's dead but I when I try to download the english taunts I get a blank pc live assistance screen with no download links or anything...I can't do anything to download can anyone help?
