How do you beat Thor in Highland?

Hey guys, ive been playing on ESO several games and i figgured i have lost all of the Highland Supremacy vs Thor players matches, mostlikely due to the shitface Lamenarok.

VS thor on HL

There is one and i just dont know WTF to do vs this strat, at first am superior cuz i can win the water but then he fckin booms, i cant get his tc's and he upgrades all the armory...

you should either spend less time attackin his tc's and going for titan right away (like all other oranos players)
Or be more aggressive after you've won water, there's no way a norse should be able to boom from 3 tcs AND be able to repel your attacks AND be able to go heroic/mythic

with these armory ups.... u_u

I really don't see how he should get the recourses for armory ups and you shouldn't be able to considering you won sea and should have a considerably stronger economy

Thor dwarves are as good as normal gatherers. They just train slower.

they still gather food and wood slower than normal villagers, not as bad as loki/odin dwafs but still considerably slower

no ! I dont remember the number but thor's dwarf are a few slower to take food and only 5% for wood...

Still full dwarf eco is supposed to cost too much gold don't u think? what will you do with your overproduction of food? This should be pretty vulnerable to a rush. Will watch the game in some hours.

a normal villager gathers:
0,90 gold, 1,08 wood, 0,85 hunt, 0,73 herdable, 0,69 farm
a thor dwarf gathers:
1,09 gold, 1,00 wood, 0,85 hunt, 0,72 herdable, 0,66 farm

it might not be much but considering thor dwarfs cost more and train slower it will add up, of course dwarfs are better than no villagers at all but at 20 minutes an economy made out of mostly villagers is much better than dwarf eco

Do the upgrades btw apply to dwarfs the same way they do to gatherers?

Yes, the only thing that affects dwarfs differently are gaia trees.
A villager gathers wood 14% faster from a gaia tree, a dwarf gathers wood 25% faster.

Thor dwarfs actually gather the fastest from gaia forests.

I still wouldn't be Gaia for supporting my Thor buddy xD. There would be too much individual weaknesses.

a common strategy is a burn rush, the gaia gives resources to the thor player so he go classical fast and rush. When he has a decent sized army he attacks the town center. The gaia will use forest fire right next to it and the thor will use forest fire.

Well Mirez I don't see how this is effective. You may scratch one guy, but th Gaia player will be very vulnerable to a group of myth units accompanied by cavalry. 1-1 right?

yes but the point of teamgames is teamplay, if the rush goes well 1 player loses his town center by 5/6 minutes, his ally will try to help him defend rather then take his time to make myth units and attack the gaia player

In fact Most of ppl do hard 2v1.
Example: Kronos & Thor Vs Ra & Zeus --->> Krushing +raiding on the greek = he looses cuz the RA player will FH but itll be too late for helping his mate.

Andrw you sure that it's vise to FH in a teamgame? It's like telling your partner to go screw himself. That's what I think at least.

Ra has no other chance IMO cuz its C fight isnt as good as set or isis, besides most of ppl say (in TG) dont rush but boom

Andrw i rather thought now of how to counter a double rush. Yeah it's rare, but if it comes you certainly shouldn't FH. Putting back the double in C seems an acceptable loss to me. I mean the resources now.

Well ra can be quite a horribly ally indeed, however if let's say I play thor and my ally plays ra it's obvious I shouldn't forward build nor try some early push. In fact getting a 2nd tc and raiding would be the best option.
I guess what I'm trying to say is you need to adept onto what civs you and your ally are playing.

Besides ra isn't that horrible in classical warfare, he can easily max out population going classical warfare and still be heroic in a decent time. I would even argue ra could make a better ally than isis because of shifting sands. Difference is isis has acces to A+E which is enough to beat must "rushes" at 8 minutes.
