| This map was created by Firefox to help improving your micro skills. It has alot of challenges, some harder than the other. Download here To install: go to Program Files-> Microsoft Games-> Aom-> scenario folder and put it there. If you fail a challenge or accomplished it and want to try again or go to another just go to the menu (shortcut:F10) and click restart. Enjoy it and write here the challenges you accomplished Cheers | |

| I agree with what Mirez said
It will improve your overall micro skills
But in a game against an equal player, the tricks you learn in this will not help alot (unless the other person is not paying attention)

| Pick one to do, doing them all at the same time would be too hard. This is not a useless scenario, it will give you some basic foundation to micro, but it will hardly be applicable in a game. This teaches you how to use micro to beat computers or other players that don't micro. In most games you will be using micro against another player using micro and this is very different. - [jij]SpOefT wrote:

Micro is something you do when you have nothing else to do. Unnless your strat depends on it more than on your eco or whatever (like with a cent rush for example). Like krijgt said, it's way more important to find the right strategy, make sure you don't have idle vills, get your upgrades in time, etc.. When you find you're doing this enough and you spend time watching your fights (if you use a lot of hotkeys and group numbers you can spend most of your time watching a fight, while still managing your eco), only then you can start microing! 1. Basic micro includes attacking myth units with your heros, a very important thing that many people seem to forget already. 2. If you have myth units and he has heros, keep your myth units away from them and focus fire on his hero. Be careful though, he might pull it back before it dies, and you don't want your whole army chasing him. What I like to do it shooting it once with all my units, then switching back to his normal units. He won't be able to 'countermicro' it 3. Ok so now you know how to deal with myth units, normal units work in the same way. Attack his units with your counter units, pull back the ones being countered; A lot of micro depends on your unit choice. That will decide if you need to do agressive micro (focus fire) or defensive micro (pulling back). At a certain level you will manage to do both, but don't try that right away, it will hurt you more than it will help you. 4. When you're good enough at countering/preventing counters, you can also try some fancy tricks, like figuring out which horse he is focusing with his archers, and run it left and right constantly so he wastes all his arrows. Or putting priests and archers in a siege tower every time he tries to attack them. But I doubt you will ever be doing this sort of things, only a few players really manage to do them without hurting themselves more. My only advice is to play as much as you can, and watch your own recorded games every time. If you won, good job, but watch from his pov anyway to see how you could've won faster and better. If you lose, watch his pov again to see exactly how he outplayed you, and how you could have hurt him. Sometimes when you see his gold runs out, or he is low on food for a long time, switch to your pov for a sec to see if you could've abused it. Don't let the majority of players convince you to play defensive all game long, they will outlame you with experience. No matter how bad you are, always try to take some initiative and keep moving around the map. You'll find out for yourself when micro is needed, and when it's a waste of your time Hope that helps a bit! Am I allowed to quote people from agesanctuary?
