Another problem with different versions

So, i've seen many of these threads, and I hate to add to them. But I have the "Version not matching host's" or whatever when I play on GameRanger. I started on GameRanger with a friend. We both had gold, so we didn't update. Then I wanted to play with other people, so I looked up how to do it, and it worked for both my friend and I. Then my resolution messed up on my laptop, causing me to have to uninstall AoM and (since I don't have my friend's disk) torrent it from Thepiratebay.

I downloaded the torrent most people used (which was a gold edition) and installed it. It worked fine in singleplayer, but I wanted to play with my friends. So I updated the titans to 1.03 and added a crack in it.. Didn't work. I tried reinstalling/repatching/cracking several times, but is still didn't work.


I stumbled across this site (which is very nice) and tried looking for answers. It seems that there are many links to download various things that might fix it, but none of the "Click Here" links worked.
